Preventing Work Zone Injuries on the Road
Heavy equipment and live traffic make roadway work zones one of the most dangerous environments to navigate. Whether operating machinery or passing through a job site, safety starts with alertness
We deliver turnkey transportation solutions—from funding, planning, and leading-edge surveying and scanning technology to hands-on engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance.
Comprised of licensed and certified highway and structural engineers, our team prepares design and contract documents for roundabouts, airport installations, roadways, and bridges.
Our complex interchange and rural road rehabilitations enhance vehicular, pedestrian, and cyclist traffic flow to improve safety. Dawood’s bridge team inspects and designs new, rehabilitated, and replacement structures.
Shown here, our team used a drone to obtain updated rectified Ortho Photogrammetry required for the ALTA survey as part of Dawood’s Heritage Village Subdivision/Land Development Plan and Connector Road Construction Plan in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
From unmanned aerial systems and design-build delivery to site assessments and intelligent transportation, we navigate hurdles and overcome challenges on behalf of our clients. As prime consultant, we served Pennsylvania’s Whitpain Township on the Pulaski Drive Bridge Replacement Project—winner of the 2024 Road and Bridge Safety Improvement Award.
Our Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) portfolio spans emergency bridge replacements in Scranton and Pittsburgh and Interstate 95 reconstruction in Philadelphia.
Statewide for PennDOT, our data collection and custom applications fuel transportation efficiency. For example, we converted over 10,000 light pole and power spreadsheets to user-friendly geographic information systems (GIS) for PennDOT users.
In close proximity to PennDOT’s six-year, $1 billion Interstate 83 (I-83) South Bridge Replacement and Upgrade Project, Dawood also used GIS to analyze the I-83 Eisenhower Interchange Reconstruction project.
This initiative helped Swatara Township, Pennsylvania, officials conclude that interchange upgrades will enhance emergency response time.
Dawood supports the Township with the design, construction plans, and bid documents through PennDOT’s Green Light-Go funding traffic signal improvement program—one example of Dawood’s municipal solutions.
