The Big Pine gathering system encompasses both 20” and 24” gathering lines extending approximately 57 miles through Butler, Armstrong, Indiana and Westmoreland counties. This $160 million system transports natural gas to multiple existing interstate pipelines in the area and provides an initial capacity of up to 425 million cubic feet per day. Dawood completed survey services for completing Limit of Disturbance (LOD) stakeout, centerline stakeout, and as-built surveys on 28 miles of the line. The Dawood GIS and geotechnical team reviewed the pipeline corridor for hazards such as historical landslides, surficial and deep coal mines, and problematic geographical features. Additionally, Dawood provided geotechnical borings and geophysical investigations for two-meter stations, two HDD river crossings, two HDD major roadway crossings, and two slope instability locations.
