Dawood was selected to prepare a study for Swatara Township, Dauphin County to show how past development in the Township led to a lack of sidewalks, particularly among commercial corridors, and to develop a prioritized list of needed improvements to be constructed by the Township.
The sidewalk study provides:
- An inventory of existing pedestrian facilities
- Identification of the conditions of the existing facilities
- Public feedback
- Identification of pedestrian origins and destinations
- Identification of areas where sidewalks should be constructed or repaired
- Recommendations for future priorities for pedestrian interconnection or critical repairs
- A GIS database to document the pedestrian inventory
