$1.9 Million State Route 1012 Bridge Replacement

Dawood Engineering led the design and engineering for the replacement of the SR 1012 Bridge in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The structurally deficient two-span steel I-beam bridge was replaced with a 74-foot two-span adjacent box beam structure to improve load carrying capacity and improve the hydraulic opening. Located in a challenging in-town setting, the design focused on minimizing stream and right-of-way impacts. The project also required relocating a local road on the east end of the bridge and relocating utilities, including gas, sewer, water, communications, and electric services.
