$1.1 Million Route 87 Embankment Stabilization Project

As part of design-build improvements for State Route (S.R.) 87 in Upper Fairfield Township, Dawood provided structural and geotechnical design of one slide repair wall and temporary excavation support and protection. The retaining wall was installed to restore a section of the existing S.R. 87 embankment using a tangent pile wall design to facilitate the construction of a lower bench and provide site stability.

We worked in concert with contractor, LTT Trucking, LLC, on this PennDOT District 3-0 project, located just south of the S.R. 973/S.R. 87 intersection and east of Loyalsock Creek in Montoursville. The maintenance of traffic and protection plan enabled two lanes of traffic throughout the bulk of roadway work, with single-lane staged traffic conditions at the start and completion of the project, completed in Summer 2024.
