Dawood and ArchiTube: Stronger Together

Part 1:

BuilderPolaska (Polish Builder Magazine – 2022)

(Czestochowa, Poland) President Bony Dawood, PE, discussed the ArchiTube alliance, Dawood’s digital twin technology revolution, and his 2022 international vision in a feature interview with Natalia Chylińska  from BuilderPolaska—Poland’s number one construction, architecture, and business media platform.

Natalia Chylińska : ArchiTube was acquired by Dawood Engineering last Fall. Why were you interested in a Polish company from Częstochowa? What are the advantages of this connection, and what is the mutual benefit for Dawood and ArchiTube?

Bony Dawood: There has been a lot of consolidation within the architecture/ engineering/construction (AEC) industry, where we are experiencing larger mega firms of 5,000 to 10,000 employees starting to dominate the landscape. Dawood is a medium-sized company that emphasizes culture, responsiveness, and flexibility—common feedback we receive from industry partners. Culture with regards to our employees and client expectations is a common thread that we consider when pursuing strategic relationships with companies that share these core values, such as ArchiTube—a partner firm assisting our operations in Częstochowa, Poland. In addition to cultural alignment, we quickly noticed ArchiTube skills and talents.

With Covid impacting industries, work environments, and project/owner relationships, I tell a lot of people that the pandemic has allowed the business world to press fast-forward into a more progressive and efficient business model. In order us continue to grow our company, we must identify the best talent and collaborate with professionals regardless of location to solve client challenges.

To achieve this vision, ArchiTube was our primary draw, expanding our U.S. capabilities, serving more international clients, and strategically growing business in Poland and the European Union. ArchiTube strengthens our engineering, surveying, and technology work force and enhances our ability to deliver turnkey asset and data management solutions. As a result, we anticipate the opportunity to grow in Poland and pursue larger, more diversified projects while leveraging a strategic service line partner.

Natalia Chylińska  : ArchiTube provides BIM, laser scanning, surveying, and facility management services. What has changed in this regard since Dawood’s acquisition?

Bony Dawood: Our goal is to continue ArchiTube’s technology trajectory with BIM, laser scanning, and surveying while empowering them with the resources to capture engineering, planning and geospatial design opportunities not possible before the merger. In addition to support, Dawood enhances ArchiTube’s ability to hire qualified and graduate level staff in Poland, extend services lines, and transform into a full-service organization in Poland and surrounding areas.

Natalia Chylińska:  How does ArchiTube impact Dawood’s North America operations?

Bony Dawood: The benefits of extending ArchiTube’s reach into the US are significant for Dawood. As one recent example, we were awarded a large energy project, and reached out to ArchiTube for assistance. We brought key ArchiTube personnel from Poland to the US to assist with the assignment on-site, train our staff in person, and share knowledge and technology.

Under the leadership of Vice President Adam Grewenda, the ArchiTube team’s BIM, laser scanning, and facility management acumen is high, enhanced by geographic information systems (GIS) and Esri® ArcGIS platform integration, AutoDesk Revit Dynamo scripts, configurator tools, and web-based point cloud sharing products. Our primary goal is to identify the strongest talent to serve our clients, and ArchiTube adds tremendous technological value.
