Tim Woodfield, GISP, Educates Clients on Power of GIS

Timothy Woodfield, GISP, thrives in his role as trusted client advisor. Lead Developer for Dawood’s 2022 Esri award-winning Southern Company Gas Illinois Land Management GIS portal and turnkey, web-based SaaS solution improving the way Pennsylvania municipalities perform construction inspections—Tim has extended his ArcGIS mastery to the Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) in recent years.

In 2023, Dawood’s senior geospatial specialist and New England Chapter of Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (NEURISA) Director At-Large conducted a statistical stormwater funding analysis of nearly 100,000 Boston parcel features to determine previously classified data accuracy. As part of this BWSC project, Tim used a varied ArcGIS technology stack including Experience Builder, Notebooks, Online, and Pro in addition to python scripting.

Throughout 2024, Tim has worked with BWSC to provide guidance for ArcGIS Online, ranging from data support to geospatial strategy evaluation and recommendations. This Fall, Tim trained BWSC staff onsite—providing an overview of GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week activities and diving into Esri App Builders, Instant Apps, Story Maps, Experience Builder, and Dashboards. Tim’s presentation included GIS training exercises and ample Esri and NEURISA resource links.

An Esri UC international presenter focused on solving New England GIS challenges, Tim is heavily involved in Esri beta testing and troubleshooting new releases. As a NEURISA leader, he continually levels-up his own education to better help clients understand geospatial tools and put the power of GIS in the hands of end users.
